Another brilliant post
Yesterday, we were treated to a lecture on professionalism. Apparently, it is not professional to roll your eyes while other people are talking -- even if what they're saying is really dumb. My section immediately switched over from snarky remarks to thunderous rounds of applause whenever someone gave a right answer. Has this really corrected the problem?
With 3 weeks left in the semester, I am still feeling totally out of place here. (Not in the sense that I don't feel like I know what's going on in class, but in the sense that I don't feel like the culture of the school meshes with my personality.) As it turns out, California is just too laid back for me. I am looking forward to returning to the East Coast where I can start developing that stress ulcer I aspire to. To that end, I have started thinking about transferring schools because realistically, people who graduate from this school do not get jobs outside of the L.A. area. Would it be worth it to readapt to a new school now that I'm in my little rut here?
